Lion's Mane and Post Concussion

While we can't make any absolute claims about Lion's Mane Mushroom treating post concussion, there does seem to be potential for it's use in that case. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting a supplement if you have had a concussion. Having said that, for me, it was a specific case of a person I know personally responding dramatically to Lion's Mane Mushroom after multiple concussions and TBI (traumatic brain injury) that caused me to become intensely interested in the mushroom and it's potential. That interest led me to create my own Lion's Mane Mushroom product after I found what I believe is the best raw material in the world. Back to concussion recovery, why might Lion's Mane help? It increases NGF (nerve growth factor) in the brain and peripherally. Here is an interesting animal study in which Lion's Mane (hericium erinaceus) and Turkey Tail (coriolus versicolor) showed benefit by reducing neuro-inflammation.
