Fruiting Body vs Mycelium

Both the fruiting body and the mycelium of mushrooms have bioactive components that pass the blood/brain barrier and support brain health. The fruiting body contains hericenes while the mycelium contains erinacenes. What sets aside Complete Health Organic Lion's' Mane (Mycothrive/Kaapa ingredient) is that every single batch is third party tested for bioactive metabolites (including hericenes). In fact, they (Kaapa) tested popular brands in Europe, and their raw material contained over 100X the amount of hericenes. This was shocking to them. And while the mycelium definitely contains bioactive substances, very few companies are testing for those components, so mycelium products are notorious for containing mostly inert carbohydrate. Second is the human clinical trial at 1000mg/day showing acute benefits and increasing cognitive benefits over 4 weeks; for comparison, caffeine had waning effects over 4 weeks. Third, the reason why Complete Health Organic Lion's Mane contains more bioactive metabolites is that it starts outside on Birch trees and the ultrasonification process dramatically increases the bioavailability. Again, we don't have to take their word for it, they can prove it with third party batch testing and a human clinical trial.
